Our story

Built by a maker,
for makers

In 2020 I started selling custom crewnecks on Etsy from my childhood bedroom during COVID. No plan, no funding — just a Cricut machine and a lot of free time. Within three years I'd fulfilled 1,200+ orders and made over $60k.

The most valuable part of the experience was learning how to build a startup from scratch at just 18 years old. This made me fall in love with entrepreneurship.

After graduating from SMU in 2025 I moved to New York City, and something immediately stood out to me. So many of my friends here are incredibly talented — baking, making jewelry, painting, designing — and they're all trying to sell their work. But they're completely dependent on Instagram to reach people.

There is an incredible amount of creativity in this city and the gap between that and the market felt like an opportunity. Kapli is my answer to it — a local marketplace where NYC makers can sell directly to their neighbors, no shipping, no algorithm, no middleman. Just great products and the people who want them, in the same city.
